What we store and why
Freshly Batch Inventory stores merchant product, inventory, batch/lot, and expiry data. Because lot traceability requires knowing which customer received which batch, it also stores merchant customer PII: customer names, emails, and the order details needed for lot tracking and recalls.
This is our highest-sensitivity app and is treated as Restricted data under our classification policy: it lives only in managed Postgres on AWS infrastructure (us-east-1), transits Redis job queues with short TTLs, and is never copied to laptops, shared dashboards, or third-party AI tools.
Data is retained while the merchant's subscription is active. Shopify's customers/redact and shop/redact webhooks are honored within 30 days; customers/data_request is fulfilled within 30 days; backups age out within 35 days.
